Week 26

Ok so I never did week 25 but I can do a quick rundown on it. Sophia still weighs about 1.5 pounds but she is getting a little longer. I gained 1 pound so that puts me at 185 and a total weight gain of 22 pounds. That's about it! Now on to week 26...This is the last week of my second trimester. I can't believe that it going by so quickly! It just seems like yesterday I was freaking out about getting pregnant..oh wait that was yesterday. Anyway, I think that is every day. I look at myself in the mirror and can't believe this is real. I forgot to weigh myself this morning so I will try and remember tomorrow. The book says if I am following a nutritious meal plan I should about 16-22 pounds of weight gain. I am tipping that one on the wrong side but at least I am in the parameters. Sophia is now almost 2 pounds and is about 9.2 inches long. Her hearing is completely formed. She is going to get increasing sensitive to sound. She is still very active which I am told is a good thing. We are still waiting for Sam to be able to feel her. It should be any time now. And that is your weekly update.

A Whole Week in One

This week has been very interesting. Work for one has had many changes. I won't go into the details because this is Sophia's blog but I am working a different shift again. My new shift is 9:30 to 7:30ish. It is longer than my 40 hours a week recommended but we have a lot of baby stuff to get and we could use a little extra money. I have been more tired but Sam has been a big help to get the errands run, cleaning, and he evens makes my lunch for me when I get home so that I can relax for about 30 minutes before I go to bed. I only have 70 more days of work before my leave and I am counting.
On Friday I sent Sam to a consignment sale to try and find a crib and dresser. They did not have those but he did a really good job of finding some other great deals. He bought, a bouncy $15, pack-n-play $25, play gym $15, changing pad $6(he just liked this one), diaper bag $5 (one of my favorite purchases of his), 2 cloth diapers $12 a piece (they look like a diaper not the old cloth ones he would like me to try it out), 6 DVD's $12 total, 12 bottles (we are going to use the drop ins so this was a good deal) $1 a piece, and last but not least a Boppy $20. When I called to check up on him he wouldn't tell me what he got and I would have to wait until I got home. When I got home he had it all out displayed so that I could see everything he got. He did a great job obviously.
On Saturday he wanted to take me back to see what else they had. Saturday was the last day so a lot of things were half off. When we got there he went crazy over baby clothes. He thought it would be a good idea to get some things over 12 months. We think we might get a lot of things from 0-12 months at the baby shower. The reality is you never know how long they will be in certain sizes. I think I picked out 2 outfits and Sam got 22. I don't know how many but it was enough to do a full load just for her. Then we found a Eddie Bauer wooden high chair for $42. It even had a yellow cover for the seat. It is in perfect condition. We were standing in line and Sam picked up one of those Lamb stuffed animals that had sound system in it. It works perfectly and was $5. We got a lot of great deals. I was impressed with the sale. They have the consignment sale twice a year and I can't wait to go back to the next one in October. After we left there we went and had lunch with my Dad. Then we headed over to Once Upon A Child (another consignment store) and found our crib. It was the one we picked out online. It looks brand new except for it has some teeth marks in the rails. We purchased it for $125. Sam wants to sand and refinish it. Who am I to say no. We were very excited about all our purchases. We decided not to but any more stuff until after our baby shower. Sophia's room is getting fuller and fuller but we are getting it done on a budget and loving every minute. When we got home it didn't stop there. Sam proceeded to take the high chair apart and deep cleaning it. Actually we did that with everything. We were on the go all day and by the end of the night we passed out with no trouble.
Today (Sunday) I am playing catch up everything we didn't get done yesterday. I might even have time to catch up on week 25. Not much is going on I think... just getting stronger and bigger. I have to go wake Sam up he was exhausted after yesterday too.

Week 24 - 6 Months -16-Weeks to Go

Another week AND a another month down. Sophia is 8.4-12 inches depending on what book you read. She still weighs about a pound. Her fingerprints and footprints are forming. She is more active and I might be able to feel her have hiccups soon. Sophia is definitely responding to sounds. Last night Sam talked to her a couple of times and she kicked me really good every time. Sam finds it hilarious while I on the other hand find it not so much. It doesn't feel good when she gives me a swift kick in the stomach. I now weigh 184.4. I forgot what I weighed last week but I have given up trying to watch what I gain. I think my body is going to gain what it is going to gain. I am not over eating or eating anything outrageous or bad so I am going to try and focus on something else. I am home sick today so I thought I would get this out early. I have a doctors appointment at 11:30 to find out what is wrong with me and then I will decide if I want to go to work or just start tomorrow. Ate oatmeal w/brown sugar, some bacon, and tea for breakfast and Sophia is kicking up her legs and having a good time. I am glad someone is feeling good.

Weekend Through Tuesday

So I had a good weekend. Busy but good. Sunday Sam barbecued/smoked and left our apartment door open and got me sick. He claims I was already sick and the smoke brought it out but I just like to blame him. I have had sinus and drainage issues. Monday I went to bed/sleep at 8pm. Slept all the way through to the next day and was still tired. I was tired all day at work and I am ready to go to bed. I am going to get ready and crash. I called my doctor and asked her what I can take to help me with the congestion. I can take some stuff and luckily we had some. I am hoping it will help me sleep better tonight. Wish me luck!!

TGIF

Thank goodness it is Friday! I am tired and looking forward to a break this weekend. My appetite is all over the board but not too bad. I have not really felt Sophia move too much today. I think she is tired too. Toby got sick last night and was waking us up to go potty outside. At least he woke us up. Can't wait to go to bed tonight and be able to sleep in.

Week 23

Sophia weighs one whole pound and is the size of a small doll. I on the other hand have gained more than a size of a doll a total of 12-15 pounds. Right now I am a little over that but my appetite has slowed down for now. My schedule has changed at work and I am now working 8-5. I think I am going to like that better because I will get home at a very reasonable hour and I will have some time to exercise and eat and a normal time.

Something New

I noticed today that my appetite has changed. Thank goodness! I am not seeming to be as hungry. Which means I am hoping I hit a plateau. I really need a plateau with the weight I gained the last couple of weeks. Sam is a gem and helping me make sure I am eating the right amount. He made dinner tonight. It included a hamburger patty, green beans and a small baked potato. He weighed and measured everything so all I had to do when I got home was pour it out on a plate and enjoy! Bless him plus an added bonus I didn't have to cook. Tomorrow is my doctor's appointment is for 23 weeks. I am looking forward to finding out new things I am going to go through. Plus I have questions that need to be answered. I read What to Expect When You Are Expecting and a book my doctor gave me A Miracle in the Making and I have so many questions. I am terrified. Terrified!!!! Oh by the way TERRIFIED!!!!!

Normal Day

Not too much to report today. I figured out Sophia really likes fruit just like her mommy. She starts rolling and kicking around whenever I eat it. Trying to eat healthy and not over do it. I did pretty good today. Only 4 months to go. I can't wait until Sam will be able to feel Sophia. I am sure I will not be as comfortable for me but well worth it. Heading to bed.

A Weekend of Relaxation

I did not do a lot this weekend. I relaxed and slept a lot. I am hoping it will get me prepared for the coming week. Sophia is really getting to move around a lot. I am hoping Sam will be able to feel her soon. Speaking of her she is rolling all around right now and kicking oh my gosh. I probably should not have had the ice cream cone. I gave up on my eating this week. I have been gaining so much weight I just decided to let lose. See what happens. I will let you know on Wednesday.

Week 22

OK...so I gained another 3 pounds. That brings the total to 17 pounds at 182.4. Luckily Sophia has gained weight too. She is now 12.25 ounces and is 7.6 inches long. She is a night owl and likes to have a good time when I am trying to go to sleep. She is much like her father on that aspect. She usually sleeps while I am work. I have been tired this week and I am so ready for the weekend. I am going to sleep a lot and relax.
