This week has been very interesting. Work for one has had many changes. I won't go into the details because this is Sophia's blog but I am working a different shift again. My new shift is 9:30 to 7:30ish. It is longer than my 40 hours a week recommended but we have a lot of baby stuff to get and we could use a little extra money. I have been more tired but Sam has been a big help to get the errands run, cleaning, and he evens makes my lunch for me when I get home so that I can relax for about 30 minutes before I go to bed. I only have 70 more days of work before my leave and I am counting.
On Friday I sent Sam to a consignment sale to try and find a crib and dresser. They did not have those but he did a really good job of finding some other great deals. He bought, a bouncy $15, pack-n-play $25, play gym $15, changing pad $6(he just liked this one), diaper bag $5 (one of my favorite purchases of his), 2 cloth diapers $12 a piece (they look like a diaper not the old cloth ones he would like me to try it out), 6 DVD's $12 total, 12 bottles (we are going to use the drop ins so this was a good deal) $1 a piece, and last but not least a Boppy $20. When I called to check up on him he wouldn't tell me what he got and I would have to wait until I got home. When I got home he had it all out displayed so that I could see everything he got. He did a great job obviously.
On Saturday he wanted to take me back to see what else they had. Saturday was the last day so a lot of things were half off. When we got there he went crazy over baby clothes. He thought it would be a good idea to get some things over 12 months. We think we might get a lot of things from 0-12 months at the baby shower. The reality is you never know how long they will be in certain sizes. I think I picked out 2 outfits and Sam got 22. I don't know how many but it was enough to do a full load just for her. Then we found a Eddie Bauer wooden high chair for $42. It even had a yellow cover for the seat. It is in perfect condition. We were standing in line and Sam picked up one of those Lamb stuffed animals that had sound system in it. It works perfectly and was $5. We got a lot of great deals. I was impressed with the sale. They have the consignment sale twice a year and I can't wait to go back to the next one in October. After we left there we went and had lunch with my Dad. Then we headed over to Once Upon A Child (another consignment store) and found our crib. It was the one we picked out online. It looks brand new except for it has some teeth marks in the rails. We purchased it for $125. Sam wants to sand and refinish it. Who am I to say no. We were very excited about all our purchases. We decided not to but any more stuff until after our baby shower. Sophia's room is getting fuller and fuller but we are getting it done on a budget and loving every minute. When we got home it didn't stop there. Sam proceeded to take the high chair apart and deep cleaning it. Actually we did that with everything. We were on the go all day and by the end of the night we passed out with no trouble.
Today (Sunday) I am playing catch up everything we didn't get done yesterday. I might even have time to catch up on week 25. Not much is going on I think... just getting stronger and bigger. I have to go wake Sam up he was exhausted after yesterday too.
